Arnhem Weavers & Men's Business Workshops for 2022
After two years of COVID enforced restricting travel to Mapuru, workshops are back for 2022. For general information about workshops click this link: "Workshop Information".
18th to 27th June including travel - Mixed women's & men's trip
Six day workshops: Women, collecting dyes and pandanus, then stripping,
drying, dyeing and weaving pandanus fibre. Opportunities to spin string and other on-country activites.
Plus Men's business worshop, living off the land, fishing, camping out.

Conditions for travelling to Mapuru
All participants travelling to Mapuru will need to be vaccinated for
COVID-19, as well as meet other conditions as required by the NT
government and Northern Land Council. The exact conditions will
need to be checked closer to the date of travel.
Mapuru women and men also offer workshops at another times for the activities noted below. For enquiries please email;

- Pandanus weaving; including pandanus collection, preparation, dyeing and weaving.
- String making (using Banyan and Brachychiton barks) for bags and nets.
- Bush medicines.
- Harvesting of yams, fruits, shellfish, fish (seasonal).
- Preparation and production of cycad bread, (requires two weeks). (This is a unique opportunity to learn and be involved in this annual activity, September through to November.)
- Shelter construction.
- Living on country.
